One Valentine’s Day Foxheart woke up very early to collect followers for his beloved. He got them in every color- but mostly her favorite color, which was purple, of course, like her beautiful eyes… Oh no! He was getting distracted.

He raced back to camp, tripping over a root and into a puddle- now he was sopping wet! He hissed, cold and hideous, and began his trip back again, falling several more times. The sun was rising quickly and when he got back all of his clanmates were already awake- loudly chattering and sharing prey. He raced through the camp looking for his beloved- and found her receiving flowers from another tom!!! She giggled, looked at him, and said in surprise, “Oh! Foxheart, how are you?” She noticed his flowers and gave a pitied smile. “Aw, who are those for? They look a little rough for wear.” He looked down and saw the flowers had been destroyed in his fall in the puddle!

“Are you alright? You’re trembling- you must be cold.” Foxheart wasn’t cold- he was heartbroken!! Hissing, he spun around and stormed out back into the forest,

This cycle would repeat, his beloved always receiving a gift from some other cat before he had the chance to do anything. He always seemed to get wet or muddy before he got there. Every year his beloved acted as though she didn’t know about his feelings for her!! He hated it so much, he started planning moons, and moons, and MOONS ahead. He couldn’t mess up next time. But he did. He had to get to her first. But he didn’t. He didn’t know what to do!!

Finally one year, he made it to camp, almost in perfect condition- with only some twigs in his fur and panting. He raced to his beloved, looked into her purple eyes, wondering if he was dreaming- he had to be dreaming- no one else seemed to be in the camp. Surely he was dreaming. Someone ALWAYS got to his beloved first.

He offered her the flowers- lilac and daffodil and dandelion, his fur hot. His heart thumped in his chest and he took a ragged breath as he prepared his confession. He never thought he would get this far. He suddenly felt overwhelmed. She prompted him and he forced out, a very quiet,

“I love you. I always have.”

She purred gleefully and sprung at him, laughter filling the air. “I love you too, Foxheart! I always have, I always hoped you’d be able to confess to me, that you’d keep trying! I’m so happy, I can’t wait to grow old together!”

The clan slinked suddenly into the clearing from their hiding spots all around the camp, cheering and chanting the young lover’s names into the air. When Foxheart looked at his beloved in confusion, she sheepishly purred, “I asked them to help me set the stage for you- I was scared that you’d give up soon. Besides, I was scared to keep you waiting.”

The days after his confession were the best Foxheart had ever experienced. He already imagined the family he and his beloved could start- already imagined growing old with her. He couldn’t believe he’d finally made it here. It felt too good to be true! And it was.

One week after the two became mates, he got terrible news. His beloved had been hit by a twoleg’s monster. I’m the medicine den, she drifted in and out of consciousness. The medicine cats murmured they didn’t know if she’d make it, and Foxheart barely heard. She had to make it- they had their whole lives ahead of him.

She didn’t make it.

Andromeda was not always lonely. In her youth, she was surrounded by friends and family so numerous that she was practically overwhelmed with affection. She never lacked for a playmate or for someone to comfort her when she was sad.
That was a long time ago.
That was before the Great War.
The Great War tore through the whole continent of Aether. It tore mother from son, brother from brother. There wasn’t a kingdom who was free from the effects of the war, whether from the destruction in the direct path or from every able-bodied creature being sent to the battlefront.
Andromeda was getting dressed for her debut ball when the summons came. Every servant in the house who’d entered adulthood. Every knight, every guard. Her father and brothers. Even she and her mother were conscripted into the medical unit.
One by one, all those she knew and loved died. Some she saw from a distance, some she learned about in letters, and some she held them as the light faded from their eyes.
Andromeda was left alone when the war finally ended.
She joined the hundreds left homeless and orphaned, left to rebuild everything that the war had destroyed.
She took charge as she could, helping take care of those who fell sick under the harsh weather, from lack of food or shelter. She helped build temporary housing, built up muscles and calluses as she worked in the fields for food.
She cared for those around her, but no one was willing to form connections again. They all carried too much pain.
After some years had passed and recovery efforts were lessened so the people could pretend to return to normal lives. Some began to heal, began to form relationships, to form families.
Andromeda began to hope again.
She met a pleasant fellow at the community food garden. She had no desire or resources to return to her childhood lavish lifestyle and instead worked with the land and lived in a simple cottage that met all of her needs, if not all of her comforts. The fellow that she met was in a similar situation, working the land to provide for the community. They bonded over mutual losses and mutual labor. They slowly began to fall in love.
Andromeda was nearly effervescent with happiness, even if her white dress was a simple design with smear marks from wearing it to work. It may not be the gaudy gown of her youthful dreams, but she would be marrying the love of her life today.
She imagined them standing together in the rundown church, surrounded by their friends and community for their declaration to love each other for eternity. She’d helped clean his outfit so she knew he’d be wearing his least worn work pants and a patched brown shirt. He’d be handsome regardless.
The music singled her entrance and she began the walk down the aisle. The priest gave his speech and they said their vows. The moment came for the priest to ask if any of the gathered believed there was a reason Andromeda and her fellow should not be married. Andromeda knew no one would speak, there was no reason to.
Until someone did. Another maiden of their community stood and revealed a distended stomach. He had fathered a child with her.
Andromeda pulled away from her fiancé, heartbroken. She ran out of the church and kept running, her dress tearing on tree branches and protruding undergrowth. She was near blinded by tears and could barely see where she was going, until she ran right off of a cliff.
As she fell into the waters below her, a warm presence surrounded her. “I’m so sorry.”
And thus Andromeda awoke, alone in the ethereal plane. Reborn as a goddess, doomed to live for an eternity.

Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Arms crossed as he glared at the broken and downed rails, Sam shuffled the toothpick between his lips from one side to the other as he sighed out his nose.

“What’re repairs for this up to now, Sam?” Jerome asked as he pulled on his leather work gloves, stepping up beside his shorter friend and coworker. Leaning back on one leg and setting his hands on his hips, Jerome chuckled lowly at the sour look on Sam's face.

“I’ll tell you, if you tell me what's the pool up to now?”

“Not a chance, bud. After you took us all with the corral repairs? Ain’t that stupid.” Jerome chuckled again before the two men begrudgingly set to work trying to repair the fence that, for the last four months, kept mysteriously breaking. Horses weren’t pastured out this far, and the ranger station was some miles away. Larger animal tracks weren’t seen, just the usual coyote or bobcat, as well as the obvious tracks of dogs and cats and horses on the trail both inside the property line and out. Nothing out of the ordinary.

“Think we’re being haunted by something.”

“Doubt it, Jerome. Don’t believe in that crap. Not like there’s anything to haunt all the way out here, anyway.”

What’s a Sprigon?
Sprigons are magical creatures that exist undiscovered in the remote reaches of modern day Earth. From the upper atmosphere to the darkest depths of the oceans, these creatures have adapted to hide and survive in nearly any environment. In fact, not only do they survive, but they seem to be able to manipulate their habitat magically in order to do so. Sky Sprigons, for instance, have the power to influence the weather, while Water Sprigons have sway over currents and tides.
Their most notable feature is certainly their tail, which can reach lengths of up to 6x that of their body. While moving they are often mistaken for long-bodied creatures like serpents or dragons, when in fact their actual body is quite stocky and square. The Sprigon’s tail is the source of its magic and is used in nearly every aspect of its life; so far, Sprigons have been noted to fly, swim at great speeds, and even tunnel into the ground.
These creatures are still considered Cryptids by the general public, and even the Cryptozoologists who study them know very little. It is suspected that Sprigons of different elements may breed to create new elements, so the number of different Sprigon elements is entirely unknown.

That is the one word that comes to mind when Bria thinks of humans. One purr, one cute rollover onto her back nets the affection and sympathy of all humans around her. Nessie was abandoned as a kit near twolegplace. To her surprise a group of young twolegs found her before anything else did. They would bring her milk and kibble. They never brought her home, but one day got her a collar with a fish charm on it. Eventually an older twoleg set a trap that she got stuck and injured in, and she fled the area, never seeing the twoleg kits again. Despite her injury, she has good feelings about twolegs, and will often scavenge around their homes for the same kind of kibble she'd get when she was younger.

Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

A Plate Dragon is a subspecies of dragon! They have "Plates" on the side of their cheeks and on their butts! They also have scales around their bodies such as on their faces, legs, and tail! Another unique feature are the "spikes" on the end of their tails and horns that can range in many different shapes and sizes that are used for protection and battle. They usually live in jungles or forests but can be found anywhere. They are extremely venomous, and can projectile their venom when in danger! They use this tactic when feeling threatened or scared so as long as you have good intentions they wont hurt you! Writing: Miles has a new-found project it seems. The other day, he approached me with a small shovel in paw and a bucket over his head as a helmet declaring "MAKE WAY! This is now an excavation site!"
So of course I had to ask just what he was doing. He eagerly told me about his new "scientific venture", and how he was going to dig up soil samples and test them for "strange and abnormal tastes". I gently reminded him not to eat dirt, and asked him why he felt this was neccessary.
Apparently, Shirl had mentioned that there was something different about the grass and soil... something "strange, unusual and new." I'm not sure what that means, but that Sprigon always seemed to have a sixth sense for these kinds of things. And if Miles was invested in this investigation, someone would need to make sure he didn't get carried away.
So this week Miles and I are going to do a little digging together. I even bought a few new "scientific" tools for us to play with. Even if nothing comes out of it, I know Miles will have a good time. He has invited some of the other yard critters to join him. So I'm about to have my hands full this week...

"I bet! maybe if i find the end of my tail we can use that as a fishing line" Bug jokingly said and giggled. Hare could only roll thir eyes and smile at bug.
