So I was wondering if there's a chance of adopting a rerelease pet, and after a rarity update, that rerelease becomes uncommon. I know there's varying levels of rarity like two pets can both be "Rare" but one could be closer to the Uncommon end of Rare while the other is neutral Rare or even closer to VR. I also understand that they don't release too many of the same pet, but after years of doing rereleases, could that change a pet's rarity or would they be less likely to rerelease that pet? I hope this isn't too confusing, and thank you for any response!

It is possible for a rare pet adopted on December 18th to later drop to uncommon, but it would have to be a pet on the "edge" of being rare to begin with, and it's also pretty unlikely.

Pets adopted from the rare boxes can still be VR/OMGSR.
EDIT: This is incorrect, sorry! You still have a chance of adopting URs from the rare boxes, but re-releases will just be rare.

Yes, as soon as the boxes are available for adoption there is a chance of getting an UR pet. What time you adopt from the boxes doesn't affect your chances c:

Yes! Nowadays it is three total pets - one from each box ^^

Okay, so even though the other boxes are “rare” boxes, you still have a chance at a VR/OMGSR from that box, it’s just not as high of chances as the other box? Am I understanding this correctly?

Pretty much! The rare boxes contain every rare/very rare/OMG so rare pet (minus store pets ofc) but since there are more rares compared to very rares/OMG so rares you’re statistically more likely to get a rare from those boxes
