Horse Art RPG - A whole equestrian world awaits!

Do you like horses? Do you like making art? Do you like drawing horses? (Or do you plan on getting into it?) Then you've come to the right place!

HARPG is a space on DeviantArt where horse lovers come together to roleplay, share their art, enter and host horse shows/competitions, and partake in some amazing equine breeds - both real and fictional! This is a place where ANYTHING can happen, play exactly the way you want to!

What does HARPG have to offer?
- Go at your own pace! Whether you're drawing once a week or once a year, HARPG will always be here and waiting!
- Countless horse breeds to use, or you can make your own! There's everything from real-life breeds, fictional but realistic/semi-realistic breeds, to pure fantasy rainbow-sparkle unicorns and the like ^w^
- Make your own stable/equestrian center, board at someone else's location, or just let your characters exist wherever you happen to place them!
- Different groups specific to breeds, locations, ect, most with their own discord server!
- Shows and competitions of every theme and discipline! Enter your horses to get eyes on them and win fabulous prizes, such as DA points, imports of special breeds, art from others, or breeding slots to others' horses! These shows tend to run for multiple months, so there's lots of time to perfect your entry!
- Roleplay and/or collab with other artists! (Or keep to yourself, if preferred!)
- Horse and rider adopts, including draw-to-adopt events and art auctions!
- Train your horses up to master their chosen discipline(s)!

How do I get started?
- Make sure you have a deviantart account! Naturally, you can't do much on the site without one :3
- Decide on your first horse and handler! (Although a wild horse herd is also an option, and there's a group for that too!) Whether they're OCs you've already had, new designs you want to make specifically for HARPG, or perhaps you'd rather nab some adopts or get into a user-made breed right off the bat instead - you'll need some subjects to draw!
- Technically, from here on you can really do whatever you want - but this segment is here to provide some direction, so! Referencing your first duo is advised, although you could always skip to the good part and get right into their first piece together! Is this your handlers' first horse? Have they been riding for years, or are they just now starting to learn? This is a great time to set the stage and give them a proper introduction into the HARPG world! Or just draw them now, and focus on story later ^w^ Again, there's no one way to play!

Resources and where to go
- Here you can find a journal on important things to know and keep in mind while playing! https://www.deviantart.com/chaoticponies/journal/How-to-Art-Role-Play-957192338
- Here is the main overall group for HARPG - however, joining and partaking in this group is entirely optional! (You can also find many helpful tutorials, horses for sale, show advertisements, and resources here!) https://www.deviantart.com/horseart-rpg
- Designing your own horse and want to keep it realistic? Here's a very in-depth visual guide to all the known coat colors, dilutes, markings, ect! https://www.deviantart.com/hunter-raider/gallery/89168917/coat-color-guide-2023

Player-made breeds!
Participating in player made breeds, I've found, is an excellent way to engage with the community! (Albeit, entirely optional!) Many of these breeds have their own point and rank systems to effectively 'level up' your horse as you work with them, often offering prizes for doing so and a fictional currency to buy things with! However, each group has their own rules and their own way of doing things, so I can't rightly speak for all of them. There are countless breeds out there, so I'll only list a few of the ones I'm involved in and will readily advocate for ^w^

Irish Lightblood - The first player-made breed I got into! These are a lovely light and sporty breed with a fun little community and a brand new discord server of its own! These are easy to get into as there are plenty of starter horses to choose from once you set up a bank account for the fictional currency they work with, and as of writing this, they are hosting a draw-to-adopt event for a select few of them! https://www.deviantart.com/groups/the-irish-lightblood/deviations

Celtic Warlander - Essentially the opposite of the irish lightblood (save for the origins XD), this breed is a heavy baroque type similar to the vanner/irish cob, with the stallions sporting iconic (but optional) mustaches! These are also easy to get into, as there are most often newbie imports specifically for those who don't have a celtic warlander of their own yet! You need only comment on an unclaimed one before submitting a drawing of it~ https://www.deviantart.com/groups/celtic-warlander/deviations

Slavkos - Enjoy some convex profiled/roman nosed equines? You may very well enjoy a slavko! Get one of these unique horses by inquiring on a breeding between existing ones, by winning an import from shows/events, or ordering an import (only 100DA points! Don't have points, and don't want to spend the money? You always have a chance at winning them from shows if you place well!) https://www.deviantart.com/slavkos

Hopefully I didn't overwhelm you with all this information! 😅If you have any questions or require guidance, I'll try to be active here and answer your inquiries! I feel like HARPG can be a little intimidating or daunting to newbies (it was for me at first lol), but it's easier to get into than it sounds!
