a long time ago, when there was only darkness in the world, skia, a faerie with a heart as cold
as ice ruled. she was evil and selfish, treating everyone as if they were her servants and only
doing what was best for herself, not for the world.

one day, the last cloud nymph in existence, nephele, decided to do something about the matter.
being trusted among others of her kind, she created a group made up of her and five other
nymphs. those six took action, and, whilst wearing cloaks, they made skia give up her throne
to them. nephele was given the role of queen and the other five nymphs became deputies.

in the end, they all faded, but nephele gave the world one last wish; to carry the magic of
the nymphs in their hearts, and in their cloaks.

there are five different kinds of nymphs - aurae, oreads, dryads, nereids and naiads,
which correspond to five different rarities; read more below.

how can i become part of the nymphlike staff?
we're currently looking for artists; to become an artist for nymphlike, i'd recommend checking out
the artist search! it's packed with all the info you need to know.

do i have to meet specific requirements to join the community?
nope! everyone's accepted here, as long as you're respectful and kind (and follow our rules,
which you can find on the second post in this thread!)

unfortunately, if someone breaks the rules, at some point they will have to be banned
from this closed species.

if you break a rule, you will get a strike. when you get three strikes, you're out, you're
banned. once banned, your nymphs will be readopted to someone else.

to make sure nobody gets confused, i've added an adopt post to explain thoroughly how
to understand everything regarding adopting a nymph.

♦ abbreviations ;
often, people use abbreviations to shorten words/sentences, and synonyms of this are
the words slang or acronyms, which you may recognize. i'll list the abbreviations that
will be used in nymphlike:

RU ("runner up"): if the artist of an adopt sees that two users who have entered their
adopt are fit to win, and simply cannot choose one of them, they can award a runner
up nymph (a lookalike of the adopt) to one of the users and the adopt to the other.

AR ("aurae"): the standard rarity of nymphs
OR ("oread"): the common rarity of nymphs
DR ("dryad"): the uncommon rarity of nymphs
NE ("nereid"): the rare rarity of nymphs
NA ("naiad"): the unique rarity of nymphs

♦ trades ;
sometimes, users do not want some of their nymphs anymore, and therefore users
are able to trade their nymphs by posting a specific form on the [url=linkhere]archive[/url].

GIFTS: this is when a user doesn't trade someone to get something in return; this
means giving someone a nymph for free with no payment.

EXCHANGE: this is 'normal' trading, aka when a user trades with someone to get
something in return. tldr; exchange something for something else.
