Her Story:

It was a very peaceful night, not a sound could be heard and the world was still. The dark sky covered most of the land, only the light from the moon and stars lighting up the night sky. Mizuki slightly opened her bright shining sky blue eyes, only to see the dim light of the stars that shined through her window. She suddenly noticed a little light that caught her attention. It slowly started to whisper to her.
"Come on, let's play~" it whispered and giggled a bit. Not sure of what to do, Mizuki continued to stare at it. Should she follow it? There was something about the light that she couldn't stop looking at. She crept closer until finally, the white light flew off towards the forest. But Mizuki didn't stop now, she followed it, trying to catch it. She ran through the forest that lit up in turquoise and blue each time she stepped on the ground. Finally, they came to a stop in front of a lake. It was covered with a nice shade of blue, the same blue of her eyes. She slowly stepped closer to look at her reflection. Suddenly, she heard more little lights giggling. There were about four of them now and they all flew down towards her feet. Slowly, they picked her up and flew her into the air. All of a sudden, she was walking on clouds. A light shade of lavender and blue... The moon shining brightly above them as they flew into the night sky...

Known to few and seen by even fewer, Atokirina is something of a wanderer on the streets of New York City, staying well under the radar. Having left a lavish, privileged lifestyle at a young age, ze is now homeless, zir life spread across the open road with only the occasional hostel to call home. Some might sneer at the life ze's chosen, or take pity on zir. The truth is, that Atokirina could not be happier. In leaving behind zir somewhat sheltered life, ze finds zirself more free than ever. Ze can go wherever the wind takes zir, unseen by others as just a vagrant passing through. Others pay less attention to zir, and ze takes huge comfort in that. Ze mainly passes through unnoticed because ze keeps to zirself no matter what. Ze makes no habit of speaking with others, which, while some find it standoffish behavior, is one of the smaller pleasures in life for zir. Ze prefers to simply listen to zir own thoughts, finding them the most comforting in the world.

Whilst living on the streets, Atokirina has learned a lot
about zirself. Most importantly is no doubt zir ability to
stick through the tough times in life, not realizing just
how strong-willed ze is until it became absolutely vital.
In addition, ze has also taken up meditation, having read
about it in an old, wet and crumpled newspaper ze
picked up. It helps zir feel more calm, relaxed and in
tune with zir body. Ze believes it has also allowed zir
to be more open minded about the world around zir.

Atokirina has picked up a rather odd habit; when ze has time to spare, ze enjoys picking up small pieces of litter which others leave behind, and using them to create small works of art. For example, one of the easiest things to work with, in zir opinion, is metal bottle tops. They are small and sturdy, easy to bend yet can retain a specific shape well. When stuck or strung together with plastic zip ties, Atokirina finds they can be beautiful sculptures. Some of those ze has created in the past are pairs of plumerians, small animals and even a swan (which ze was particularly proud of). However, ze doesn't bring the creations along with zir when ze moves on; to prevent others from sharing in what ze enjoys seems selfish. Instead, ze prefers to leave them where they were made, in inconspicuous places such as on shop window ledges or at the bases of trees. This way, ze hopes that they won't be damaged by the feet of others or be at mercy to the elements. Furthermore, Atokirina believes that, due to where ze hides them, anyone who does manage to find them will have a penchant for looking further into things than most others might, rather like zirself. If these plumerians do find them, ze hopes that they will find joy in the small sculptures ze has made.

Though Atokirina is elusive to other plumerians, ze has a small place in zir heart for animals. Whenever one is nearby, ze feels extremely protective of them, though why this is has been unclear for zir whole life. Thankfully, the feelings ze has for other creatures don't go un-reciprocated, and they tend to be drawn to zir as well. Atokirina's soft, natural luminescence attracts a few fireflies of a night, and ze finds it easy to calm small animals such as cats, who often become the best friends ze has in zir small, quiet world. Ze finds that he can relate to them so much easier because they tend not to project themselves onto zir. If ze needs someone to talk to, vent to, pour zir heart out to, a animal won't interrupt, judge, or comment on 'what they would do' in zir position. They simply listen; and occasionally, an open ear and shoulder to cry on is really all ze needs.
