Changes to the trade pages:
When sending, editing, or cancelling a trade you will notice that the trade screen looks a little different. We have changed those pages to try and make trading less confusing. You can also now cancel trades from the "edit" screen, so we think there will be less accidents. We have changed the way we describe trades, so until you get used to it, note that these are the new terms:
"Ask them to accept the trade" does the same thing as sending a trade "offer". Your trading partner can accept the trade immediately. This is what you should use when you are 100% happy with the trade and want them to accept it the way it is.
"Ask them to edit the trade and send it back" does the same thing as sending a trade "suggestion". Your trading partner can't accept the trade yet, they'll have to send it back to you for approval. This is what you should use when you want them to change or add something to the trade.
Changes to trade messages for COPPA members
In the past, COPPA members were not able to write trade messages at all. Now, they will be able to choose from a selection of pre-written trade messages to try and tell you what they want. We hope this will reduce trade frustration and confusion for COPPA members and their trading partners.
COPPA members will be guided by the system to make sure their messages make sense. So (for example) they won't be able to ask you for a free pet while telling you that they are giving you a gift. They can only say they're sending a gift if your side of the trade is empty. Unfortunately they can't tell you exactly what pet/item they are interested in, but the messages should be an improvement on the previous guessing games.
If you are a COPPA member and you'd like to be able to write messages and post in the forums as a regular member, please ask your parents/guardians to sign and send us the COPPA permission form so we can give you permission to do those things.
