Thinking of rejoining CS after 5ish years

I don’t know if this is the correct place to post this considering I’m not exactly new… but I’ve honestly almost entirely forgotten how to use the site so it seems applicable haha

Title says it all! I was super active on the CS, specifically the Oekaki forums… lately I’ve been getting extremely nostalgic for it X3
CS honestly feels like a preserved corner of the “old internet” that’s very calm and innocent compared to most other forums and sites these days… I miss it! And the community still seems pretty active which is really cool.

To people who’ve been here over the last few years— has the general “vibe” of the site changed much? Or is the community still pretty active (people making friends and interacting with each other frequently)? Have older users stuck around (and therefore the user base of the site is older) or are these still a lot of kids having fun and interacting with each other? Is there still a pretty big art community?
Honestly I’d love to just revert to my more carefree younger self on here— I remember having fun and confidently posting my beginner art & basefills and having other users compliment them ^w^ the rest of the internet has become seemingly so harsh on young/beginner artists and I miss the cheerfulness and whimsy of chicken smoothie :’3
