This pupper is a shark, isn't it? Those are gill slits on the sides, and that's a dorsal fin on its head.

it goes well with the pup enjoying any color, he looks really happy like he likes everything! although it doesn’t go well with the overcast hint so i’m starting to doubt…

Could it be Schuyler’s dog given the date and title of the dressup plus how the dressup has kind of the same design as the dog with splotches of color over a monochromatic(-ish) background? That feels too obvious.

The date is irrelevant and focusing on the big picture may not prove very helpful. You'll want to look into it a little more. Are you sure you've seen everything there is to see regarding the scene?

Well then I’ve truly got nothing to add to the mystery of who drew the Day 8 dog, at least for now.
On the matter of your pup, Schuyler, I’m wondering whether the newborn and the dressed up “radioactive” lime green pup from this year’s litter have something to do with your outcome. Judging by the transparent text (in bold italics above), however, I’d guess the clue is something else and some more searching is in order. It’s getting pretty late where I am so I look forward to doing some digging tomorrow.
