It was figured out in the Discord, but a couple of horses are spotted getting swapped around my Unsorted pets, both from 2011. I have confirmed that the hint was for that year. (One was a store "sea-horse" that I gave a shield, noted to be attributed to war, and the current one, Death from the Hallowe'en set)

I am now going to extend that a bit - it was a nearly unique year for a reason.
