Has anyone figured out this little guy's mushroom inspiration? I'm stumped 😅 the closest I've got is maybe Shaggy Bracket (inonotus hispidus) or Turkey Tail (trametes versicolor) but I'm not so sure



Edit: still not sure about this one but the new yellow deer growth from today has got me thinking of Chicken Of The Woods 🤔 (laetiporus species)

Are they though? I'm still not convinced. I get it, that's the vibes I initially got from the caterpillar too, but it bothers me SO MUCH that they're out of order on the caterpillar and that they also grow out of order. On the 'pillar they go fall, summer, winter and spring and they grew in that order too from 'pillar to cocoon. Completely random.

The seasons go in a specific set order. Spring, summer, fall, winter. Always. No exceptions. Regardless of which season you start at (doesn't have to start at spring, it's a cycle after all) and even regardless of the northern/southern hemispheres.
Why would you make a litter based on the seasons grow at random? It doesn't make sense and it bothers me way more than it should.
If they are based on the seasons, then I hope they grow in order from 'pillar to adult, starting at winter apparently.

The first adult is super pretty though and I'm definitely looking forward to the rest <3

Yeah, I'm stumped on this one too. I just happened to know the first one because I've seen it irl (I took that picture I linked) and it's a super recognizable mushroom.
...But brown mushrooms? So so many brown mushrooms! :'D

I know I've seen 'shrooms that look like this deer but I don't even know where to start my googling! x3
