Complete Guide to CS Horses 2008-2019 (Image Heavy)

Postby HappyPineapple » Fri Apr 12, 2019 11:57 am

Pet and Item Design Archive by Wookieinmashoo

There is no guide to horses on here, so I thought I'd do one, since I've collected all the horses up until 2019 (bar one). I've collected a bit of knowledge too over the years that I'm interested to share.

Please note this guide does not address store horses (yet) as they are not considered necessary in order to have a complete collection. There are also couple of ponies and unicorns that I consider notable enough to add in here.

Current contributor/s (huge thanks to these guys, particularly Devik who has an awesome knowledge of the horses of this game):
- fairytale_wonder
- Devik
- Icesky

Onto the guide! Thanks to Icesky for writing this.

Intoduction

Horses, like lots of chickensmoothie adoptables, are adoptable every month.
Current Horse Artist; Equimagine (main artist), Malk (with her own adoptables), and occasionally Nick.
Equimagine has been our horse linartist since May, 2009. She was welcomed greatly, and remains here for hopefully many years to come. She creates the main Chicken Smoothie horses, and occasional horse items.
Equimagine was unfortunately banned from the site for using traced/copied/stolen artwork. All of the horses were put onto new line arts.

Retired Lineart

What I mean by retired lineart is lineart created but has been discontinued and will most likely never be used again (Except for some circumstances).

Tess Lineart

Tess, as you should know, is the website creator. She created all the original pets (But now recieves help for our great staff!) Because of so many people wishing to have horses on this website, she made some.
These horses were non-growable and had only adult lineart.

The First

The first ever released horse on Chicken Smoothie was actually a sneak-peak at more to come. It was a special release for Tess' birthday and came from this box;
Image
Eventually, a little horse grew from the box! Thus, our palomino...
Image
That day (September 10, 2008) Marked the beginning of horses. And, of course, happiness or all horse lovers.

But, Chicken Smoothie would not just have one horse. We asked for more, and luckily got some. these horses were released the same month as the gift.
ImageImageImageImageImage

But, we were still anxious for more, and October that year, we got what we wanted.

ImageImageImage

Christmas then came around, and on some of our wishlist were horses. We couldn't have been happier to get four.

ImageImageImageImage

Did I say four? Actually, we recieved five the Christmas. But, there was something different about the fifth. One one day that Christmas, we had a huge present. We were allowed to adopt two of these gift. But, we didn't know what we would get from these gifts. We could have gotten any previously released pet from this box. There were four pets we call "Unreleased." We call them this because unlike all the rest of the pets in this box that had been released before, these had not. If you were lucky, you may have gotten the "Unreleased Mint Horse."
Image

Christmas of 2009 soon came along and the event with the mint horse happened once more, only with the "Unreleased Purple Horse" Everyone was shocked for another horse because this christmas, Tess Horses were retired.
Image

... Until...

Chicken Smoothie's birthday event in 2018. As if it wasn't exciting enough that our favourite community was celebrating their birthday, some users were lucky enough to adopt this little box:

Image

... Which after 21 days, grew into this:

Image

This was very exciting for a lot of players, as this 2018 Tess horse was very common and a lot of players could have their very own!

Grief Litter
Lillian Nightshade wrote:I like to call this Grief Litter, for it's based on the five stages of grief. That's why they folowed this rather... odd growth system. They were simulating the progress of the stages on a person, and each horse's design is also my symbolic interpretation of each stage.

ImageImage
Denial | Anger
Lillian Nightshade wrote:Denial is something that breaks you apart, for you're constantly trying to ignore the harsh reality and thus start an inner conflict between what's real and what is not. Thus the "broken" appearance of the horse. Anger is like an infection. It takes over when you're at your weakest and corrupts you from the inside out, and so I made the horse look infected, with spiderweb veins all over him.

ImageImage
Bargaining | Depression
Lillian Nightshade wrote:Bargaining is "what if" stage, where you're constantly beating yourself over what happened and keep trying to change the past, when it's clearly no use. With this I made the horse look very weak, tired and beaten up. Depression is such a vast field to explore and very hard to squeeze everything in one design, but basically I made the horse look half sick, half healthy, because while you look fine in the outside and everybody thinks you're ok, deep inside you're far from it. The horse also has a chain marking on his neck to represent the chained feeling depression has on you.

Image
Acceptance
Lillian Nightshade wrote:And lastly, here we have Acceptance. I wanted to make the horse look very peaceful and light, yet still bearing faint scars from the grief it passed through. After all, even though you may have achieved acceptance, what happened is something you will always carry with you.

Information wrote:The Acceptance horse is considerably the most valuable outcome, turning rare while it's littermates were still common.

Glowstick Litter
bel racat wrote:okay so there was (shockingly) a little bit of logic from the black -> white -> final colour. the glowstick brand i buy comes in a black package, and then they are white until you crack them and then the glow whatever colour. the whole litter was very loosely based on some glowsticks on my desk (thats where i originally got the idea), so when i made the stages i kind of kept it in mind...
so thats the explanation for the black -> white -> colour...i understood it made little sense, the stages, so i hope that clarifies it a tiny bit. ^^

Edit: Sorry, I didn't notice the 2015, 2016, etc. sections hadn't been done yet, thus could someone delete this post, please? So the guide isn't interrupted

Thanks! c: I actually spoke with the person who runs that guide and they suggested I make a new one :)
Edit: Might actually not delete this so others who have the same question can see the answer c:
