store pets aren’t included on here because their worths are always slowly going up and hard to measure against regular pets, so the Successful VR/OMGSR Trade thread or the store pet list on the CS Guide to Rarities will probably be more helpful ^^;

is this pet on the list? The royal bobtail is which is in the same litter group so I'm a little confused unless i just missed it

looks like this one turned very rare in 2019 so only the bobtail of the litter is on here ^^

whether all the pets actually trade for that much is another matter but the actual placements are all based on rarity. a look through the rarity change archives themselves shows these pets turning very rare around the time the list pets they’re placed with did. (the rares list even mentioned some of these pets on the front page [nick sunback and nick blue tox, st patrick 09 dog and 2011 dragon etc] before it’s retirement as pets that were going to be added and should’ve already been on and encouraged valuing them as rarer pets)
it’s more than alright if you don’t like this list or won’t use it to trade, i just want to point out they weren’t just put there for no reason and this is where these pets actually sit among each other with the information we have ^^

As chickensmoothie grows up so should the list, I believe they’ve done great research to create a more fair and realistic list. That doesn’t mean you need to go along for the ride though, the rares list might be more important to artists to help them price their work using pets. It’s an ever changing business. Modern day is much different than back when, so I believe the list is more fair than the previous ones, especially when it comes to pricing work.

i think unfortunately although this list is a very good idea and is placed based on rarity, very few people are going to follow it because of demand, or for other reasons. so many people are comfortable with the discontinued list, it'll be hard to get people on board with this one.

ok re-reading it i can agree with the C$ pricing but i think some of the pets shouldn't be placed as high

The pets are placed based on when their rarities changed. Demand and personal opinion are not factored in placements.

I really like this condensed list, thanks for making it. I have an art request coming up that I didn't plan to accept (contains a non wishlist rat), but after some thought and seeing this, I'm going to go for it to see if I can't trade up this list in some fashion as an experiment.
