I haven't dipped my toes in 3 yet, but I'm a big fan of 1 and 2 c:

Is there much of an improvement from 2 to 3? Is it worth the "upgrade"? Especially considering I don't play the 1 player experience... I've been on the fence about it

It overall depends, theres new weapons and gear, the new salmon run events and the new challenge mode. I actually enjoyed the splatoon 3 story mode compared to 2 as it felt refreshing and took what octo expansion did and used it to improve how story mode plays. it feels different to me and feels alot more polished but also familiar?? if youre super on the fence about it, probably try and find it on sale or on some second hand sites such as ebay to find it cheaper as i understand completely not wanting to spend $80 for a game. theres alot more connection issues with the new game somehow which sucks. but yeah, its really up to you. i personally feel like its a great upgrade but considering you said youre not too fond of the story mode i cant say for certain it'll be worth it for you. i wish you luck deciding though, stay fresh!

I gotcha... maybe I'll try to catch it on sale or once I have a bit more time to play. Thanks for your feedback, tho! New slamon run events might be worth it... that was one of my favorite parts of 2...
