The Rhamphorhynchoids tend to have long tails and teeth in their beaks. Pterodactyloids tend to have no teeth and short or no tails. However, some Rhamphorhyncoids, such as Anurognathus, had short tails, and some Pterodactyloids, such as Tropeognathus had teeth.
