Yes, that's what I thought too. If I were to make it I would base it upon books like Great Expecatations, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, maybe some Elizabeth Gaskell etc. Even if people haven't read the books most would have seen the movie cringes so it might work that way

Book roleplays are just so darn difficult, and the plot can end up being restricting. :p

Great Expectations *screams* Estella and Miss Havisham aofsouighsighajnfuiahfs we studied it for GCSE English (along side The Crucible, To Kill a Mockingbird and a selection of poetry from various authors) and to be honest I loved them all so much -odd considering most people seem to hate the literature they study at GCSE and A-levels. But Great Expectations helloyesIwantin.

Ok, I've got a small idea for a plot, but I don't want it to be too constricting if we use canon characters, so let me know what you think:

In another one of Jane Austen's stories Emma, the main character basically acts as a matchmaker and pairs up all the people in her life and she is usually pretty successful. If we include her in the roleplay and have the other canon characters meet up together (maybe they are all in London for the season, or have connections) she can start pairing the wrong couples up. So instead of having Darcy and Lizzie she might try to put Estella and Darcy together, for example. However, I'm not sure if I want it to strictly revolve around romance, so we can throw different adventures that they would have in the day or include stuff from the books, but build it around our own tale and the other character's reactions: Lizzie finds out Lydia eloped, Pip discovers his benefactor isn't Miss Havisham, ect.

Idk do you think the plot is too confining if it's based upon the books? Should we just loosely base it off of one and have ocs instead? I think that having the canon characters all together would still let us put our own spin on it, but I'm curious to know what you think.

I actually really like that plot. It's like A Midsummer Night's Dream.

This thread has been so quiet lately!

I'v been craving a good literate RP lately but none that have been created recently on the forums have caught my attention. Anyone have any good plots they're working on or any ideas that have come to mind?

I want to create one of my own but I have had little muse for writing plots these last couple of weeks ._.

I've been grooming the boards for a good pirate RP, but can't find one. Does anybody know if someone is planning/has a pirate roleplay out there?

I've actually had quite a few ideas on LOTR RPs, and some of them would be able to include OCs, if anyone is interested. :3
