I think the general consensus is yes. :3 I'd love to hear your ideas, although I must say I'm really interested in doing a canon and OC mix.

It's this old, severely AU idea I've had for a long while; the plot could take place more towards the end of the Great War, and the Battle of the Black Gate goes horribly wrong and various people get captured. This lead could allow people to join with both canon and OC characters, but the only thing I'm concerned about is if people happen to want to play OC elves, as no other elf save for Legolas, Elladan and Elrohir are at this battle.

@ Greenleaf, if it was you who made the roleplay then you could always add a rule in that OCs are only allowed for selected species, otherwise people have to play canon charries?

If there were a LOTR roleplay I'd be more comfortable playing OC's simply because I don't feel confident in portraying the canon characters accurately. I'm undecided if I would join; I'm desperate to get back into roleplaying again and i've got a huge itching to write fantasy genres, but it depends on whether or not posting would have to be really frequent because I can't promise a commitment to that for another few months *sobs grossly.*

@Pan, oh yes, that'd be a great rule to add in to keep things straight, thanks! :3 and there's no need to feel pressured; only join if you feel you have the time. <3

I'll probably be creating the roleplay tomorrow, as I'll be busy the rest of the day. Would anybody here be interested in joining?

No problem! Glad I could help with a solution c:

Like I said, I'm definitely interested in joining - I mean, everyone needs a break from studying now and again anyway, right?

Of course! :3 anybody with good LOTR knowledge and the RPing skills can join.
I'll be creating the thread soon!

Edit: Here we go. >_> I am not at all satisfied with the intro, so I'm probably going to rage-rewrite it later. How does the introduction post look otherwise?

I am seriously craving a historical-type roleplay. I'm still up for one set in Victorian times ;) but honestly I could go for that or something Medieval, or even discovering America with the Native Americans. Ugh, just soo many ideas...

New worlds made by ariadne, might help your cravings Zoella; set in 1680 it revolves around the colonists in Massachusetts and a native American tribe (I'm pretty sure it's based of the TV show but I haven't seen it so probably best to check with ariadne, on that).

I've been debating on making a couple of roleplays recently, one was inspired by a skype chat in which we were discussing a world without sexualities (it wouldn't even be that everyone was asexual, there would just be no such thing) and another idea which involves dual minds whereby a group of disabled children are provided compensation through a scientific experiment which connects their mind to that of another living creature (an animal). I'm not sure whether or not they'd get any real interest though.
