mugamuffin: The first piece is definitely my favourite of the two, though both are wonderful. The textures and choice of colors are just to die for. I really like these pieces c:

a.k.a Raptor: I love this. The detail you've captured is amazing. I like the design on the back; it reminds me a little of melting toffee.

Hi.. I'd like to join ?

Well, actually I'd like critique on this peice. It was supposed to be a unique, highly detailed background, sunset-y thing.. but it sort of turned into this. I don't know if I'll keep editing it, and I'm more into doing backgrounds at the moment.. so.. any help ?

Edit - Forgot to post the peice. I'm an idiot. Image

@AkaRaptor - I love the anatomy, and the design is nice. Maybe add something to the tail, sort of like the design you have on the back down the length of the tail. ^^;

Finished a Korra piece : D

Supposed to be some sort of modern version of her. :> I'm experimenting with different coloring styles, because I still haven't really settled on one that I really like.

@.Kurt.: Looks nice so far! Kinda reminds me of a Dr. Suess book. 8D Maybe Dr. Suess with a slightly darker twist.

@ muggafinn: The body of the panther (or whatever big cat it is) looks a bit thick and round. Big cats tend to be sleeker, I think. The claws on the second one look oddly angled, but I'm not sure if they're supposed to be that way, since you did it on both completely visible paws. The tail looks like it's starting a bit too low. Overall, though, they're nice! Especially the one with the background. I'm terrible at backgrounds myself

Thanks Yunyi! Yeah, I keep on making my big cats a bit too tubby. I got used to drawing one of my own characters, Tiberius, who actually is fat! And yeah, that second one was a bit of a fail. I'll keep them more aligned on the next piece I do that involves something similar, they seem to be pretty popular, now.

@ Kurt
that's very lovely! it's really creative, something i would never even think of doing. i like the palette and color-choice, especially the contrast of the black moon with the rest of the picture.

my post from the old thread:
i know how off it is anatomy-wise, but would anyone mind red-lining this so i could have an idea of what i should do next time?

@.Kurt. - That is very, pretty..Keep up the good work.I really love the background the colors bring out happiness. ^^

@Yunyi - Wonderful body of the character. The shading and clothing makes it look realistic!

I have beeen working on some art for a competition for here on Chicken Smoothie on paper and I will post it if wanted. ^^ It is Maximums Ride: Max I do believe.I did use a reference the whole time, so I could see what she looks like.I think it turned out great for a newbie drawer.I am just now starting to do animation and chibi.

@Aero: I don't think you're allowed to use other drawings as direct references for poses, or anything like that. Not trying to mini mod, just pointing it out. Sorry!

Yes, Aero, Mugga is right.
You cannot, and should not, eyeball images for references unless the image is from stock, or you have been given permission to do so.
Here, unless this artist gave you permission-- the URL says Gaiaonline, so I know it must be from a user there-- you should not be copying their work in any form.

Hello~
Love this thread, wonderful idea, Nex.

@Yunyi: I LOVE it! I think perhaps the colouring style you did on this is one to keep. It's stylized but not to the point where it's distracting. The way you did the lights are beautiful... especially on the hair. I have not criticism, except for maybe the fact that there might be something weird with her thighs. But it might just be my eyes; I'm not positive if theres really anything wrong or not.

I really want to watch a livestream... if anyone is having one, PLEASE post or PM me, I'd love to watch.

Did this the other day:
Image

It's definitely the best cat lines I've ever done. Any feedback is highly appreciated. Design belongs to Nimaine... I really wanted to add a background to this but Nimaine ordered it with out a bg. 8|
