bakono[plural and singular] are mammals that resemble small features of bats but the basic build of a bear. they have large, sensitive ears and pig-looking bat noses. their front legs are larger and more muscular than their back to aid in digging and foraging. they have four toes and one semi-opposable thumbs in the front, and four toes in the back. their claws are thick and sharp. bakono are hairless on most of their body, with usually some form of fluffy mane or tail. as omnivores, their diet consists of [25%] meat, [35%] nectars/honeys/sweets, [10%] insects, and [30%] fruits and vegetables. in the wild they live in prides, like lions. there are two dominant bakono, a male and female pair, that guard over and protect the others and their pups. bakono mate for life and will stay with their mate always. if their mate dies they do not replace them. in a domesticated situation bakono do not rely on a dominant pair leader, but simply require some kind of companion to bond with. this can be a human, another bakono, or even some different species like a dog or cat-- but the more company the better.
