Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

“ℳy dear little tuttle, what are you doing?"
A seconds wait before she remembered -
"Oh, right, you can not speak.. perhaps there
is something I can do about that? But, even
then, I have tried before, and failed..."
The strange shadow creature who stood in
front of her looked at her with it's blank
eyes. She sighed, shaking her head at the
silent little creature, made of shadows
and broken dreams..
"I had forgotten that you were not really
alive.. my power can only do so much for
you, my dear little tuttle. I wish that I
could truly bring you to life, but I only
posses the power to manipulate a shadow..
I wish, for your sake, that I could one
day learn how to create life out of your
kind.."
No response came from the small,
shadowy creature as they leapt back into
the darkness of the graveyard, leaving
her once again alone.

Asteria is a sad, old soul. She keeps to herself, although not by choice.
She's a bit of an outcast, as most others find her appearance intimida-
ting despite her sweet, gentle soul. Although, perhaps the reason tha-
t others find her to be intimidating is more due to her strange power.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Tuttle was the first shadow that asteria ever manipulated, but that was
tens of years ago. Discovering her 'power' was ultimately amazing and t-
errifying for asteria. Being able to manipulate shadows had never seem-
ed like an amazing power to her, though, but she soon learned the pow-
er it actually held. Something about it seemed.. wrong. It was as if sh-
e was toying with life itself. She could essentially bring the shadows to
life and ask them to do whatever she wanted.. it was incredibly exhila-
rating but petrifying at the same time. She wasn't the only one who fe-
ared her power, however. People who knew what she could do became
afraid of her, shunned her for fear of her doing something to them, de-
spite her sweet and gentle demeanor. Eventually, she started to accep-
t her powers, but became a recluse in return for fear that society wou-
ld view her as a monster, or do something rash to her out of fear. She
loves company, though. She's far too afraid that others could never ac-
cept her, so she doesn't make friends and hardly speaks at all. It took
her awhile to find a place to reside, but eventually she decided on an
abandoned graveyard, a place with others wouldn't go and she could a-
void them. However, to fill the void that being without others leaves
her, she creates 'shadow friends' to help satisfy the emptiness. She m-
anipulates the shadows into animal like beings and tells them to com-
plete 'tasks' which keeps them 'alive'. Without a purpose, however, t-
he shadows can not maintain their form and will perish soon after cr-
eation.
