new years in the archive

sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but while going through the archives a while ago, i noticed that from 2010 to 2016, then again in 2018, all of the new year's pets are grouped under the month of january. every other year has a separate archive category for new year, 2017 and then 2019 to now. it's not a problem or anything at all, i was just curious if there was a reasoning behind this, or if anyone else has ever noticed before lol. i've put screenshots from random years to show what i mean

I'm not aware of any specific reasoning, may just be personal choice on the archivist's part, or just dependent on which staff member placed them in the archives. Most smaller releases are just grouped with the month they came out, so its possible it started getting its own section just because its celebrated more regularly than other similar releases.
