Crestwood Estate was established in 2002 by Mr. Phillip Campbell, a warmblood breeder and hunter trainer with every intention of creating the finest fleet of hunter/jumper athletes the eastern U.S. had to offer. Only a select few riders and horses were selected to join the Crestwood Crew, who enjoyed forty acres of manicured pastureland, impeccable barns, and groomed arenas. Mr. Campbell, however, didn't buy into the encouraging nature of most of the other hunter trainers in the area; rather, he cultivated a culture of competition and contention among his riders. Trainers began denouncing Phillip's harsh teaching to one another, while the riders themselves became intensely divided and started to break down under the pressure. The resulting drama culminated eleven years later in 2013, when the majority of the riders had enough of Crestwood's toxic nature and left to join Mr. Campbell's rival stable. As a result, Crestwood suddenly could not afford to stay afloat, and Mr. Campbell sold the farm as his remaining riders anxiously awaited the arrival of whoever would purchase the farm.

Wynne Kaur and Annabelle Dunham dreamed since they were little girls of purchasing their own riding school; when Crestwood Estate came onto the market, they knew it was just the opportunity to get Annabelle out of her desk job and Wynne out of her underpaid riding coach position at another barn. Annabelle invested in an imported German Riding Pony stud and a handful of Welsh broodmares to start the pony breeding program of her dreams. Wynne, meanwhile, had coached eventing for eleven years, and many of her students chose to migrate with her to the new barn. Having taught young children for most of her career, the young trainer had worked tirelessly to promote an encouraging team atmosphere among her riders; while her eventers weren't always in the ribbons, they were determined to have fun and uplift one another at every show. Being a loud, rowdy bunch, they couldn't be any more different than Crestwood's remaining students.

The sale, unfortunately, happened just weeks before Crestwood's infamous summer boarding school program; Wynne, however, refuses to back down in the face of the challenge. With the help of a hunter/jumper trainer Annabelle hired for the farm, she aims to jump back and forth between horse trials and hunter shows and bring together a single, cohesive team among the vastly different riders. The riders, however, might have different ideas. The hunter riders see the eventers as unruly and undisciplined, while the eventers see the hunters as stuck-up and unfriendly. Can the new trainers put together a true team, or will the unsportsmanlike teachings of one bad trainer continue to divide the Estate's riders?

Crestwood Estate's summer boarding school program is a three-month program reserved exclusively for Crestwood's riders. The camp in its beginnings was a "boot-camp" situation, in which riders spent their summer in intensive lessons and racing from show to show. Regardless, the riders always made their own fun, sneaking out on late-night trail rides, swimming in the pond at the back of the property, and getting into all manner of trouble otherwise. The new ownership hopes to make the camp more relaxed, with several more activities and a less intense schedule. Whether or not this prevents too much troublemaking, only time will tell. The camp schedule will be released once all riders are registered and lesson groups are established.

1. Lights out at 11:00 PM. All riders must be in bed, and all horses must be cared for.
2. Horses must be cared for before breakfast each day.
3. No boys in the girls' bunkhouse, and vice versa.
4. Adult permission is needed for all trail rides, and trail riders must be in groups of at least three.
5. Cross-country jumping is only permitted with a body protector, a medical armband, and a trainer present.
6. Attendance is mandatory at all group activities and meals.
7. Riders are responsible for their horses' hay, water, feed, and stalls.
8. Helmets and closed-toed footwear are always required for riding of any sort.
9. No swimming in the pond without an adult present.
10. No food in the bunkhouse, and no drinks other than water.
11. Riders are expected to watch other lessons unless other duties need attending.
12. Horses may not be ridden for more than one and a half hours daily.
13. Riders are not to ride, handle, or otherwise disturb Mrs. Dunham's ponies without permission. Treats are encouraged.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐ต๐’ถ๐“‡๐“ƒ๐“ˆ

Crestwood Estate has three barns, each capable
of holding 10-14 horses. Barns 1 and 2 are
reserved for Crestwood students, while the
third barn is reserved for the pony breeding
program. The stalls, reminiscent of Mr.
Campbell's expensive taste, are painted baby
blue and in impeccable condition, bedded in
deep shavings and spanning about 10'x12' each.
Barns 1 and 2 flank the covered arena; the
bunkhouse sits atop Barn 1.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’ž๐‘œ๐“‹๐‘’๐“‡๐‘’๐’น ๐’œ๐“‡๐‘’๐“ƒ๐’ถ

The covered arena shares a roof with Barns 1
and 2; the entire complex is shaded and very
well-ventilated. This arena is massive, the
largest on the property, and it is used for all
purposes. One side of the arena holds several
raised benches from which to observe the
goings-on, while the two walls shared with the
barns are lined with mirrors to aid the riders.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’Ÿ๐“‡๐‘’๐“ˆ๐“ˆ๐’ถ๐‘”๐‘’ ๐’œ๐“‡๐‘’๐“ƒ๐’ถ

Wynne had requested that a large-format
dressage arena - about 20x60 meters - be added
to the property, but the best the previous
owners of Crestwood were willing to do was
rope off a patch of grass near the back end of
the property with decorative chain and call it a
day. Because of the inconvenient location and
uneven footing, the arena is mostly in disuse,
though the eventers occasionally make use of it
before shows.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’ฏ๐“‡๐’ถ๐’พ๐“

Crestwood's trail encircles the entirety of the
property, and it is beautifully kept; some
sections have dirt footing for easy going, while
others are left natural, especially near the back
of the farm. At the fenceline between
Crestwood and the neighbors' property, there is
a large pond with gorgeous, clear spring water.
The trail winds near many of the paddocks and
is fairly easy to access.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’ข๐“Š๐‘’๐“ˆ๐“‰ ๐ป๐‘œ๐“Š๐“ˆ๐‘’

Crestwood's guest house is directly adjacent to
the covered arena complex, and is a four bed,
two bath bricked home with a quaint feel. The
guest house is reserved for Crestwood's
trainers, and has updated amenities and a great
view of many of the paddocks and the arena.
Riders are usually not permitted in the
guesthouse, save for injuries and emergencies.
๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’ซ๐’ถ๐’น๐’น๐‘œ๐’ธ๐“€๐“ˆ

Crestwood's new policy dictates that horses are
to be turned out every morning and stalled each
night. Each of the ten paddocks spans about an
acre and a half each and holds between three
and five horses; the grass is in great condition,
and all paddocks are conveniently located
between the covered arena complex and the
third barn. Each paddock is equipped with a
water trough, a number of shade trees, and a
small run-in shed.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’ช๐“Š๐“‰๐’น๐‘œ๐‘œ๐“‡ ๐’œ๐“‡๐‘’๐“ƒ๐’ถ

The outdoor arena was filled with harder footing
than the covered complex for a superior jumping
surface; as such, this arena is the primary
location for jump schooling. Several post-and-
-rail fences, along with an assortment of
liverpools, brushboxes, brick walls, and solid
fillers, are available at the riders' disposal. This
ring is not quite as large as the covered, but it is
still quite expansive, and a set of bleachers
makes spectating a breeze.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐ต๐“Š๐“ƒ๐“€๐’ฝ๐‘œ๐“Š๐“ˆ๐‘’

Two sets of stairs lead from Barn 1 to the
bunkhouse, which contains 30 bunk beds and two
bathrooms, each equipped with a heated
shower. Like the barns, the bunkhouse is in
excellent condition, though the bathroom
perhaps leaves something to be desired. The
bunkhouse is split evenly by a large wall; one
bathroom and fourteen beds for the boys, and
one bathroom and sixteen beds for the girls.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐’ž๐“‡๐‘œ๐“ˆ๐“ˆ-๐’ž๐‘œ๐“Š๐“ƒ๐“‰๐“‡๐“Ž

Wynne brought with her from her old job a set of
ten cross-country fences, including coops,
rolltops, and a sharkstooth. Shortly after
purchasing the property, she, Annabelle, and her
husband Teddy erected a trakehner and a few
more logs and coops, bringing the total course to
nineteen jumps. Most of the jumps are smaller in
height - generally between two and two-and-a-
-half feet - with the exception of the monstrous
trakehener. Crestwood is currently in the process
of breaking ground on a ditch complex and a
wellman's wall.

๐’ฏ๐’ฝ๐‘’ ๐‘€๐’ถ๐’พ๐“ƒ ๐ป๐‘œ๐“Š๐“ˆ๐‘’

The main house is Mrs. Dunham's abode, a
massive plantation-style home still painted Mr.
Campbell's favorite color; baby blue. Very few of
Crestwood's riders have actually seen what it
looks like on the inside.

The roleplay is currently accepting new players. Our first day has now begun! We will continue accepting new players until the first lunch of camp begins.

It is a Saturday in late May, the arrival day for all attendees of Crestwood's boarding school program. Many of the hunter riders already have their horses settled in at Crestwood, though some may still be arriving. Most of the eventers have yet to bring their horses and belongings. All riders are in the process of arriving and unloading their tack into the lockers near their stalls, their clothes into the chests of drawers scattered throughout the bunkhouses, and any other necessities into the proper places. Soon, it will be time for the first official camp meal - lunch, helpfully catered by a local Italian restaurant - followed by a briefing on the camp rules and policies. Since the horses have not yet acclimated to their new pasturemates, they will be turned out and supervised for a few hours before being brought in for the night. Any paddock adjustments will likely be made by Monday.

Weather: Since Crestwood is so near the East Coast, it is a mild summer. Today, it is partly cloudly and moderately warm. There is no chance of rain and a soft breeze. Tonight, it will be pleasantly cool.

Upcoming Shows: None planned so far!

Notable Relationships: None so far!

Schedule
The schedule changes on a day to day basis, depending on which lessons are taking place each day. Each day, however, has a basic schedule which is always adhered to.
7:30 AM: Riders should be feeding their horses their daily grain rations and turning them out for the day. Riders must wake up in enough time to be dressed and ready to care for their horses at this time.
8:00 AM: Breakfast is held in the pavilion attached to the south side of the covered arena - most often, the selection reflects a standard continental breakfast. All riders must attend.
8:45 AM: Riders should help with breakfast clean-up by scrubbing their used dishes, sweeping, and so forth.
9:15 AM: The first riding lesson begins grooming and tacking their horses.
9:45 AM: Riding lessons for the day begin.
12:45 PM: The last lesson untacks and puts out their horses.
1:15 PM: Lunch is served. Selection varies. Attendance is mandatory.
2:15 PM: Riders should help with lunch clean-up in the same manner as they did for breakfast.
2:45 PM: Scheduled free-time. Riders may participate in any activity they can think of without leaving the property; socializing, trail riding (with permission), schooling horses (keeping in mind the limit on exercise), cleaning tack, napping, or anything else.
5:30 PM: Evening feeding. Horses are brought in, given their grain rations, and turned out again. Riders must clean stalls if a mess is made.
6:00 PM: Bunkhouse check - the bunkhouse doesnโ€™t need to be spotless, but clothes should be neatly organized in the provided chests of drawers, the bathroom should be wiped down, and so forth.
7:00 PM: Dinner is served. Selection varies. Attendance is mandatory.
8:00 PM: Riders should help with dinner clean-up in the same manner as they did for breakfast and lunch.
8:30 PM: Horses are brought in for the night. Riders must fill water buckets, provide rations of hay, and ensure the stalls are clean.
9:15 PM: Evening free time. Riders shouldnโ€™t leave the barn/bunkhouse area, but are free to get ready for bed in whichever way they please and socialize with one another. Riders are welcome to go to sleep earlier if they so choose.
    11:00 PM: Lights out.

Weekends
Technically, weekends are not part of the camp; no official activities are scheduled. However, riders still make great use of the weekends. Every Saturday, the team makes a trip to the local laundromat to wash clothes (and saddlepads/wraps, if necessary), which is rescheduled to Friday on show weekends. Since most camp attendees are able to drive, riders are permitted to leave the grounds on pre-approved ventures for up to three hours a day - many choose to pick up fast food to bring back to the grounds, while others may go to watch a movie or go bowling. For riders that stay on the grounds, meals are provided at the usual mealtimes, usually consisting of leftovers from the week. All camp rules remain in effect over the weekends.

Mrs. Dunhamโ€™s Ponies
As you may notice in the paddock assignments, some of the horses living alongside the boarder horses belong to Mrs. Annabelle Dunham, the official owner of Crestwood Estate. For the most part, there should be no need for the boarding school attendees to handle these horses and ponies; however, there are certainly possible scenarios in which interacting with such horses becomes necessary. If you need information on the looks or personality of any one of Dunhamโ€™s ponies, just say the word in the discussion thread or via PM!

Consciously, Ty knew his big, shining blue truck was more than capable of pulling the weight
behind it this sunny morning. Still, he swore the vehicle groaned a little under the burden of
the fat draft mare in the second stall of the three-horse trailer. Ty had offered to haul Cici
for Wynne, since the trainer wanted to use her own two-horse to haul an assortment of
cavaletti, poles, and jump standards to Crestwood for use in lessons and such. Regardless of
the added passenger, the rig rolled into the Estate's paved driveway right on time; the

young eventer surveyed the farm with the same wonder he had upon his first visit, marveling at the impeccable condition of the buildings and amenities. He pulled up as close as he could to the main entrance to the covered arena, hoping to unload quickly and get out of the way of the other attendees now arriving.
Ty wasted no time in retrieving the three blue leadropes from the bed of his truck and unclipping each horse from the trailer ties, despite having to climb on the wheel wells to reach their heads. Misty unloaded first, as daintily as ever, sweeping her head around to inspect her surroundings with a kind eye. Cici came next, lumbering backwards as though half-asleep. At first, Ty considered leaving Hootch behind the stud wall for a second to walk the two mares to their stalls; however, when the little paint gelding started pawing frantically at the rubber trailer mat, he settled for tying Cici to the trailer and hanging onto the end of Misty's lead as he strode into the trailer to retrieve his own horse. Hootch whirled around and made a quick attempt at zooming out of the trailer before Ty caught his halter and calmly reminded him with a firm tug to mind his handler as they stepped down. With his two mounts for the summer now safely unloaded, he left Cici to lip at the wheel wells and doze as he strode into the arena complex.
Since Hootch was snorting with mild terror in his eyes, Tyler sought out his stall first; fortunately, both of his charges ended up in very close proximity to the covered arena, so they weren't too far apart. Misty didn't seem to mind as her handler spun the smaller gelding around and guided him into the stall, removing his halter in one small motion. Latching the stall, Ty decided to hang around for awhile to ensure that Hootch didn't panic, since the warmblood mare wasn't at all bothered by waiting around.

Brynn pulled through the gates of the Estate with her windows rolled down, one elbow
slung comfortably out of the opening. She seemed to be in no rush as she rolled down the
main drive, for Tide was already settled into his stall and most of her tack, save for her
cleanest show gear, was safely stowed in her tack locker. She parked the truck lazily,
knowing that there was plenty of parking for the select attendees; stepping out, she ran a
hand through her hair, adjusted the corner of her sunglasses, and made her way to the

large tub of clothing resting in the bed of her vehicle. Brynn popped open the tailgate and dragged her belongings into her arms, stacking them at her feet; the tub of clothing, two garment bags, two boot bags, a helmet bag, a small toiletry bag. She made short work of hauling the tub to the bunkhouse stairs, settling finally for dragging it up each step since she couldn't see well over it when it was in her arms. She tossed her sunglasses onto the first bed she saw when she entered the room, pushing her luggage inside and closing the door behind her.
Inside the bunkhouse, each pair of beds shared a chest of six drawers; sitting on the bottom bunk she'd now officially claimed as hers, Brynn popped open the large plastic trunk and began pulling out an array of shirts and breeches and arranging them inside the drawers on the right side of the dresser. Some of the clothes were already terribly wrinkled, and her overly-efficient folding wasn't doing them any favors, but any attention she had for the task was diverted to the small window above the dresser, which revealed the steady line of vehicles entering the arena complex and beginning to empty their passengers onto the summer bluegrass.

Wynne surprised herself when a lump began to form in her throat as she stepped into her
truck. The two girls standing in the airy barn aisle waved excitedly, the two thoroughbred
geldings in their possession munching on recent treats and looking curiously after the
vehicle as it began to pull away. Wynne knew without a shadow of a doubt that leaving
Windfall Ranch was the right step for her, but leaving behind so many of her students - and
her two beloved horses - was nonetheless a difficult undertaking. She'd already bid her

farewell to the barn owner and stuffed Gallant and Civ full of treats, already loaded her remaining belongings and the jumps and cavaletti she'd purchased; it was time to go for good. The nostalgia of leaving the barn wasn't the only weight on her shoulders, either; she'd fretted all night long over working with a trainer she'd never met, especially knowing most of the riders were new as well. Teddy, bless him, had made her a mug of herbal tea at one in the morning in an attempt to set her more at ease; on the other hand, the mug of coffee in her cupholder likely wasn't doing her nerves any favors, but the comfort of familiarity was sorely needed.
Wynne's truck lumbered out of the ranch's gates and onto the road; the trainer took in a deep breath as she reminded herself that her and Annabelle's dreams were finally coming true, and this camp was the culmination. She adjusted her ballcap and silently hoped that this "Laurence," whoever he was, had already arrived; her truck's digital clock hissed that she'd taken a little too long with her farewells.

โ”โ” THE day had finally come where leonette was able to come back to crestwood for the summer season. she'd been half dreading it, there were new owners who (according to rumor) were planning to make it into a breeding facility, she feared her money and her time would be washed down the drain for the owners to ignore them and focus on their own projects. but the need to be winning and on top brought the eventer back to her summer home. she had put everything (or most of it at least) away in her room and was now making her way to the stables.

HER father was due to bring phaidos down to crestwood later than when leonette would arrive. she found him, begining to unload the trailer in which phaidos was situated in. "hello pa, has he behaved himself?" she asked when finally reaching the trailer. 'the road here was bumpy, so he's probably been thrown off.' leo nodded, and took the rope that connected her to phaidos' halter. he walked slowly down the ramp, legs twitching. "come on bud, you're alright. you've been here before." she coaxed him. when he finally was fully out of the trailer and on the solid ground he seemed to calm. she turned to her father, who she hugged goodbye. no longer did she make the goodbye long and strenuous, she'd see her family as soon as the summer was over.

LEONETTE led her stallion down the path to barn 1, where according to the paper she was given, was were phaidos' stall was located. curving around the corner, phaidos looked in prime shape. his head bobbed, coat was shiny and tail and mane cut evenly. finally making it to the barn, leonette began to look for the stall. she passed a rider with one horse in their stall, the other half-way in the walkway. "excuse us," she spoke lowly

        ( twenty-two ) ( hunter/jumper trainer ) ( rider of persephone ) ( location โ” the guesthouse ) ( tags โ” here )

โ”โ” LAURENCE unplugged himself from his ear buds. he glanced out of the window in his room. most of his bags were unpacked, a smaller suitcase was still full of his tack and gear, a box with the essential cleaning products and saddle sat neatly within that box. persephone had been already placed into her stall, laurence aimed to do so as soon as he'd arrived at the estate.

THE guesthouse was currently empty, the trainers footsteps the only sound he could find. he breathed in softly. laurence wasn't necessarily anxious about starting in the new position as trainer. he was just happy to finally, finally get away from his father. whilst this was the case, he wasn't as happy to be away from his racing. moving silently into the kitchen, laurence found a thin glass. he filled it with water from the tap and lent back against the counter top, relishing in the silence. when he arrived, laurence didn't see many riders around. he quickly put his mare into her stall and made sure she was both secure and happy. he'd then ventured to where he was going to stay, alongside the eventing coach, he remembers the name 'wynne' being thrown around.

HE reminisced to his father's words before laurence took a plane to the other side of the country. he was angry. angry that his son and best worker was leaving for the height of the season where most sales would take place, a colt had been sired the week before laurence was due to leave, making the workload even tougher for the trainer.

PLACING the now empty glass on the bench behind him, laurence rubbed at his head with both hands. he cursed to himself and stood tall again, making a move for his room, where the box and suitcase of his riding gear sat dormant in his bed. picking up the cardboard box first, then the suitcase, he made his way to the door. as he exited the guesthouse he took a second to just peer over the grounds. many more students were arriving at this point, trailers started to go to and from the arena complex. the estate, to it's credit, looked much more beautiful in real life than online.
