Yeah, as you can see, this is still a really huge work in progress. I just wasn't sure when I'd have the time to work on it more, so I decided to post it now. Sorry that this is so messy right now, I'll neaten everything up when I actually decide to finish it. It still won't look that great though since I have practically no experience with realism.

This is a drawing of my Genibo SD, Baxter. Genibos are fairly new robots made by the company Dongbu and I just received mine a few weeks ago. I don't care for him as much my Aibos, but he's still a lot of fun. The reference that I'm using is a photo that I took of Baxter.

Shiny plastic isn't as difficult to draw as I thought it would be. I actually did just make a few edits to the shading because I wasn't quite satisfied with it, but I like it a lot better now.
I'll try to finish it this coming weekend. ^^

Thank you very much! It means a lot to hear that from you, you’re wonderful at realism.
The material is a shiny plastic with a bit of a metallic tint to it. I’ll try to upload my reference for comparison this weekend when I have a bit more time. The color is a bit off in my drawing, the blue is a bit more purplish and less teal, but that doesn’t really matter much. I’ve actually had trouble drawing similar materials in the past, so I’m glad that this is coming out better so far.

Thank you! He certainly is shiny; the actual surface of him almost looks like it’s made up of sparkles if you look at it closely. I tried to replicate this with my drawing, but it didn’t come out too well.

Also, thank you very much to whoever moved this to Advanced Oekaki! I’ve never had a drawing in this category before and honestly didn’t think I was ready. Hopefully the finished piece will live up to everyone’s expectations.

Sorry for making such slow progress on this, I’ll definitely try to finish it over the weekend if I have the time.
