The spell was supposed to have been a simple one. Light the candles, place the flowers, read the scrolls. But when the shadow came up behind him that was when he knew something was wrong. Suddenly his fur and skin turned to stone, his eyes looking around for some help. But he was in the middle of nowhere. And even if someone found him the Shadow would petrify them too.
