Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.
Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off, which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

first day of school, and already i'm being asked what i missed most about summer. aside from the obvious, like swimming and endless summer night fun with all of my squad, i really miss butterfly catching. i have a huge collection -- living and dead! some find it pretty morbid, but documenting the kind of butterflies i find, being able to admire their beauty even after death, there's something eerily soothing about it. my living butterflies are all monarchs, and i let them go when suitable. i love drawing them, writing about them, learning, its all so fascinating to me! during the winter, i think that's what i miss most.

they miss the free time, running outside after the last school bell rung. they miss biking around town and being a punk, playing jackstone on the pavement and working part-time jobs by selling lemonade in front of their neighbors. they miss the nostalgia that came along with being a kid smelling the fresh air on the first summer day.
