Sometimes Best Buy will sell them at a sale. Still not cheap by a long shot, but you sometimes can save up to about $50 from the regular price. That's how I've gotten mine.
Some years ago they were selling graphire 3 tablets for about $80 (smallest size.) That served me well for about a good three years. (I sadly abused it, the cord used to get caught on my chair and pull the tablet off the table.)
It still worked even after that, but I eventually wanted an upgrade. I bought the Intuos 3 tablet (smallest size) at a sale price. (I can't remember what I bought it for, but it was a considerably bit cheaper than what other places were offering. (I checked online before buying.)
That's what I am using currently.
You probably would like to start out on the "Bamboo" or "Bamboo fun" tablet. (I think both are the same but one costs more because of some design differences and different included software choices.)
It will get you started. A small tablet will work pretty well, fit better on a cramped desk, and also cost considerably less.
Looking for: Halloween 2019 pets. I have tokens but missed the trade in times due to no internet access the end of October.
