Why should you be allowed to adopt a newbie?: I was adopted by someone when I first joined and it really helped me. I've been here for almost 6 years and I would love to help someone start out! I believe having a goal on CS will help me stay active.
How often do you get on CS, and how long are you typically online on these days?: I get on and check nearly every day, but if I am assigned a newbie I will be here way more often (at least a few times a day when I am not working, and at least once a day when I am).
Did you read and understand all of the Adopter information?: Yes
Do you agree to be helpful and polite to your newbie at all times?: Of course!

Update

We have now reduced the account age limit for adopters to apply on the thread from one year to 7 months. We recognise that many users are capable of helping out a newbie before they have been on CS for a year, and hope that by reducing this limit we can encourage more eager and able helpers to lend us a hand without needing to PM a thread mod. Anyone who has been on CS for less than 7 months is still welcome to apply by following the underage adopters instructions.

As a general note - thanks to everyone who has applied recently to adopt! We really appreciate your generosity and willingness to help out. Right now we have about an equal number of adopters and newbies coming in with each update, so if anyone is thinking of adopting then we would be incredibly grateful for your support. We will have plenty of newbies in the near future needing a friendly face to guide them! (:

Why should you be allowed to adopt a newbie?:
I have been a member on CS since 2009 and since joining I haven't been away for more than a few months. I've seen this site change and grow and have made a decent few mistakes of my own! I wish I had someone older when I first joined to show me the ropes and how to get to know this website. Outside of CS, I try my best to help my family and friends with any problems they may have, and I've been looking to expand this to CS, to help strangers with anything they may need. I consider myself Queer and I have experiance working with people who identify as such or may be thinking they may identify in a similar way. I love to help people out in any way I can and I would love to help out any newbies that have any questions what so ever, CS or non-CS related.

More often these days, but I've been on daily for the past few months.
